Crossley Condor - RV 720 number 74

No.74 was one of a number of experimental buses that were being evaluated, it was fitted with
an Short 48 seater Double-Deck Body, it was withdrawn in 1947 and converted for use as a
Breakdown Tender in 1948, It was eventually withdrawn in 1975 and passed into the Ownership
of The Portsmouth City Museums.
It is believed that this is the ONLY surviving Crossley Condor in any form.
It is also one of (if not the) oldest diesel powered commercial vehicle still roadworthy in the
UK. Possibly the world.
RV720 has joined the CPPTD Collection June 09 moving from Eastney Pumping Station.
Delivered in 1931 as fleet number 74
Converted to recovery vehicle 1948
Withdrawn from service in 1975
